February 14, 2012

A clinical laboratory personnel licensure bill (H. 4611) has been introduced in the South Carolina House of Representatives.

This bill is similar to bills submitted in other states.   H. 4611 requires a four-year degree to be licensed as an MT (or CLS) and would not recognize your AAB Board of Registry certification [MT(AAB) or MLT(AAB)] for any licensure category.

AAB and the AAB Associate Member Section (AMS), OPPOSE H. 4611.

AAB has opposed similar legislation in other states, where we have been successful primarily due to the assistance of members in those states.   We need YOU now!
