From the President

Hello Everyone,

The new leadership usually takes over in May after the AAB-CRB meeting. This year we are delayed with Bill Roudebush stepping down and having a special election for my term to begin. This means I don’t get the year of observing the CRB President and go straight into the Presidency. My passion is education of the next generation of embryologists, and I will make that my focus as this year’s CRB President.

I congratulate Gerry Celia for planning and executing a spectacular meeting in Florida this year. Reviews of the meeting content and venue were higher than ever. That being said, we have already selected a site for the 2019 meeting in New Orleans – May 16th to the 19th at the Sheraton.

You have an excellent team of Committee Chairs this year who have hit the ground running to support our industry. Dara Berger is getting the first newsletter out in 2 years. Liesl Nel-Themaat, as the chair of the Legislative Committee, is already leading the charge on a senate bill in Ohio. And Jean Popwell as the outgoing President is hard at work planning your 2019 meeting.

I want to challenge the members of CRB to note Bill’s resignation of President of CRB. It must have been a very hard decision as a leader and pioneer in this industry. He did this to awaken the members of this society and to alert us to be active and have a voice. The leadership needs to hear from you, and for you to be involved in the growth and success of CRB. I believe that for the success of any organization we need transparency. And the short of Bill’s resignation letter was that there is no transparency in the AAB-CRB leadership above the people that are elected. My goal will be to improve that transparency between CRB and you the members. I want to hear your concerns by email – please contact me at dranderson@embryodirector.com.
