AAB Proficiency Testing

POLT(AAB) – Physician Office Laboratory Technician

To be certified as POLT(AAB) – Physician Office Laboratory Technician – an individual must meet one (1) of the following requirements and pass the AAB Board of Registry’s POLT examination.

1. Be a high school graduate, or equivalent, and graduate from a clinical laboratory training program of at least six (6) months duration that is acceptable to the AAB Board of Registry.

2. Be a high school graduate, or equivalent, and have twelve (12) months of experience in a physician’s office laboratory or other clinical laboratory acceptable to the AAB Board of Registry.
