To be eligible for membership as a Manager, you must have:
Less than 10% ownership share or financial interest in a laboratory or the parent company of a laboratory; not be qualified as a director, consultant, or supervisor under the CLIA ’88 regulations, now or as they may be amended; and be actively engaged in an administrative or managerial position in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory or a federally certified or state licensed bioanalytical laboratory, e.g., environmental, embryology, public health, or veterinary laboratory.
A Manager member is eligible to be elected to their Regional Board of Governors as a Regional Treasurer, Regional Manager Representative, Chair of the Region’s Committee on Government and Professional Relations or Chair of the Region’s Committee on Continuing Education.
A Manager member who is elected as a Regional Manager Representative is eligible for election as the Manager Representative on AAB’s National Board of Directors.
Annual Dues: $75
To be eligible for membership as a Supervisor, you must meet one of the following requirements:
Be qualified as a laboratory supervisor under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA ’88), or in a laboratory licensed by a federal or state agency that requires such licensure.
Be certified as a supervisor by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) or another national certifying agency acceptable to the AAB Membership Review Committee.
A Supervisor member is eligible to be elected to their Regional Board of Governors as a Regional Treasurer, Regional Supervisor Representative, Chair of the Region’s Committee on Government and Professional Relations or Chair of the Region’s Committee on Continuing Education.
A Supervisor member who is elected as a Regional Supervisor Representative is eligible for election as the Supervisor Representative on AAB’s National Board of Directors.
