Important Information for Nominees to the AMS
Administrative Board,
N
ominating Committee and AAB Regional Boards

Nominees must accept the nomination, either in writing or verbally, before being placed on the election ballot.

Nominees must be present and properly credentialed at the Thursday, May 14, 2015, AAB Associate Member Section Business Meeting during which elections will be held in order to be listed on the official ballot and be eligible for election.*

* In unusual circumstances, this requirement can be waived if the reason for non-attendance is approved by the AMS Administrative Board in advance of the business meeting.

Nominations for the 2015-2016 AAB Associate Member Section (AMS) Administrative Board are now open.

Nominations are sought for three (3) Registrant Class Board Members and for three (3) members of the 2015 Nominating Committee.

Members may be nominated for election to the AMS Administrative Board or to the AMS Nominating Committee in the following ways:

  1. Selection by the 2014 AMS Nominating Committee.
  2. A written petition signed by at least 10 members in good standing of the AMS. The administrator of the AMS must receive such petition no later than noon of the day preceding the business meeting at the annual meeting of the AMS members. For 2015, that will be by noon on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.

To be eligible for nomination as a Registrant Class Board Member, an individual must be an AMS Registrant Class or an AMS Registrant Class Life Member in good standing. The AAB/AMS bylaws provide that not more than one AMS Administrative Board Member (except for the AMS Board Member elected by the AMS-Regular Class) may come from one state or nation, other than the U.S. Therefore, members may not be nominated for the Registrant Class Board Member positions from the following states as those states are already represented on the AMS Administrative Board: Colorado [Kenneth Jensen, GS(ABB)/MT(AAB)]; Florida [Athena L. Russell, MT(AAB)]; Iowa [Rick L. Quayle, MT(AAB)]; Missouri [Joan Fulk, MT(AAB)]; or Texas [Nancy Henderson, MT(AAB)].

To be eligible for nomination to the Nominating Committee, an individual must be an AMS Registrant Class, AMS Regular Class, or an AMS Life Member in good standing. Members from the state of Missouri may not be nominated to serve on the Nominating Committee as that state will be represented by Immediate Past Chair Joan Fulk, MT(AAB).

Nominations Sought for AMS Representatives to AAB Regional Boards of Governors

Each region of the AAB Associate Member Section is entitled to one (1) Regional AMS Representative on the AAB Regional Boards of Governors.  The AAB Nominating Committee is currently soliciting names of AMS members interested in serving as Regional AMS Representatives on the AAB Regional Boards of Governors.

To be eligible for nomination, the individual must be an AMS Registrant Class, AMS Regular Class, or an AMS Life Member in good standing and must reside in the region of nomination.

Forward the names of nominees, no later than Monday, March 2, 2015, to: Samuel Leggett, MT(AAB), Chairperson, AMS Nominating Committee, by email: ams@aab.org, fax: (314)241-1449, or mail: AMS Nominating Committee, 906 Olive Street, Suite 1200, Saint Louis, MO 63101-1448.

Elections will be held during the AAB Associate Member Section Business Meeting on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the 2015 AAB Annual Meeting and Educational Conference.

Nominations will not be accepted from the floor during the annual business meeting.  You must be present to cast a vote.

Take advantage of this opportunity to be heard on the national level. Attend the business meeting and VOTE!
