Billing for Technical Component (TC) of Physician Pathology Services
ends July 1, 2012  

Effective June 30, 2012, the current exception that allows pathologists and independent laboratories meeting specific criteria to bill for the TC of physician pathology services furnished to hospital patients will expire. This provision was originally set to expire on February 29, 2012, but was extended through the end of June in the bill earlier this year that addressed the physician fee schedule and pending SGR cuts.
